Did you know that The Solomon Foundation is the third-largest church extension fund in the U.S.?
But what exactly is a church extension fund?
To put it simply, we raise investment dollars from investors, and those funds are then lent to churches within the Restoration Movement for refinancing, church building acquisitions, and construction projects. Church extension funds (CEF) are faith-based financial organizations that provide low-interest loans to churches, ministry organizations, and schools for property acquisition, construction, renovation, and expansion. These funds are typically supported by individual investors seeking both a financial return and the opportunity to support church growth.
What sets CEFs apart from traditional banks is their dual purpose: they’re both financial institutions and mission-driven organizations. At TSF, we understand that while earning an excellent rate of return is important to our investors, our mission of growing the Kingdom is where we have an eternal impact. We act as a bridge between individual believers who want to invest their resources in something meaningful and the practical needs of faith communities looking to grow their ministries. What we do as a CEF is an example of faith-based stewardship and community-centered financing in action.
“At TSF, we understand that while earning an excellent rate of return is important to our investors, our mission of growing the Kingdom is where we have an eternal impact.”
As a CEF, TSF is managed by industry professionals and governed by a board of directors. We operate with transparency, publish regular financial statements, and follow ethical lending practices to maintain our investors’ trust. Compared to traditional banks, TSF offers more resources and flexibility to our ministry partners. Beyond creative lending solutions and favorable loan terms, we provide borrowers with access to exclusive networking events, leadership training, executive counseling services, and staff support. As a CEF, we have the honor of coming alongside our ministry partners to offer prayer and personalized support to help them reach their individual goals.
